For over 30 years, GUI has been an official language of the computer world as a face contacting this digital world, and has followed the standardization, closing the gap between person and machine. A development of computer whose mechanical limit has dissipated has exposed the human limit, changing into new ‘machine-nature’ and situation making person adapt for machine at present. Jacques Derrida fought against strong logos-oriented binary opposition of Western metaphysics by expanding écriture from Grammatology. To overcome logos-centrism, he contrasted presence supposing that the truth is here now as a concept of ‘trace’ derived from écriture. ‘Trace’ plays a role opening the espacement by emerging from proximity and immediacy consisting of presence. This study desires to find boundary and limit of GUI by applying the use of Jacques Derrida’s ‘trace’. For this, if meaning structure of GUI synthesized by graphic, user, inter, and face is restructured by presence and trace, this structure is expanded into representation/non-representation, user/agent, absoluteness/relativity, and human/nature. In addition, GUI, a formal language, possesses a feature functionalizing the espacement, focusing on ‘space’. In GUI System establishing a standard consisting of systematization and integration for efficiency, this reason will be a foundation to secure diversity, individualization, and distinctiveness again. Deconstruction is not a method of definition or purpose but a method of reason. The way is made in domains. The way consisting of domains stands by to connect again, separating surroundings through a difference. The way of domains made by deconstruction guarantees a possibility of both sides such as separation and acceptance like Pharmakon.
